As we know, the COVID-19 pandemic has increased both the prevalence and severity of food insecurity in our country--including in our own B-CC community.  Like the many schools and organizations who are mobilizing to meet the needs of those affected, there is a B-CC community-related effort underway: a simple and safe opportunity to help families in need.

Monetary donations will go to to B-CC Cares, to help with the purchase of grocery-store gift cards for families in need. Families can use them to purchase perishable items, such as eggs and bread, which are NOT included in food bags.

For food donations, we ask that you assemble one or more bags with the NON-PERISHABLE grocery items listed below.

Suggested Items for each bag:

  • 2 packages of grains such as rice or pasta

  • 2 canned vegetables

  • 2 proteins such as tuna, beans (canned or dried) and/or peanut butter/nut butters

  • 1 canned fruit such as applesauce or small shelf-stable packages of fruit in syrup

  • 1 box breakfast cereal or oatmeal

  • 2 other family-friendly kitchen staples (boxed milk, broth, pasta sauce, cooking oil, etc)

  • 1-2 child-friendly snacks

  • Toilet paper or Paper Towels

Feminine Hygiene products, soap, toothpaste, and other sanitary items have also been requested.
