28-year-old Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny is set to star as the titular character ‘El Muerto’, a renowned superhero in the Spider-Man comics. After the film is released in 2024, he will be known as the very first Latin superhero to ever appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The Latin trap artist spent extensive time searching through old Spider-Man comics to find a character that he could perfectly portray.

The reggaeton rapstar is extremely proud to be representing the Latino community. “To bring El Muerto to life is just incredible … so exciting,” he exclaimed to an audience at CinemaCon. However, this isn't the star’s first experience acting in a major picture: He also made appearances in ‘Narcos: Mexico,’ ‘Bullet Train’, and is set to act in ‘Cassandro’ alongside Latin star Gael Garcia Bernal.

Marvel is adding more diversity across the board with their upcoming projects--not only with ‘El Muerto’, but also in the new ‘Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness’ movie with its rumored LGBTQ representation. Expect to see even more astonishing actors from underrepresented communities to add more notoriety to the MCU.
