Chinese Military Plane Crashes in Residential Area

A Chinese J-7 fighter military jet crashed in the central Hubei province, killing one and injuring two. Fortunately, the pilot only sustained minor injuries after parachuting from the plane and being taken to the hospital for examination and treatment immediately after.


The crash caused an explosion near the airport of Laohekou in Xiangyang city in Hubei. Some houses located near the crash site experienced immense damage due to fire damage from the explosion.


This is the second plane incident in China as an China Eastern Airline Corp. passenger plane crashed into a hillside in March, killing 132 passengers and crew. As of right now, investigations by Chinese officials are still taking place as to the causes of the crash.
