The Barons Cross Country team continues to live up to the hype of the 2021-22 season with a tremendous performance at the Bull Run Invitational. The Bull Run Invite is one of the largest meets in the state, featuring 105 distinct teams all competing on what’s considered one of the hardest courses is in the sport. The Barons, coming off a record of 1-1, really showed out at the invitational with solid performances across the board. Sophomore Varri Higgins was the headliner for the Barons, winning the varsity girls elite race and cementing herself as one of the top runners in the state. Senior Kieran Fitzgerald also had an impressive race, securing 28th place out of 146 in the varsity boys elite race. The Barons look to capitalize off of their growing momentum, and really push the pace as they head into the rest of their season.
