MCPS Salary To Increase

Teachers work hard every day to give each student a fair and balanced education. It has been known that their pay does not reflect the hard work that they put into each student, especially in MCPS where housing can be quite expensive. This adjustment is being made as the cost-of-living increases to 1.5%. MCPS jobs fill the households of people across the county and the homes of people in our community and the raise will help keep food on the table. This also comes following a mass exodus from the teaching world in the last year. Teachers, substitutes, bus drivers, and general staff members are low in quantity. The pay increase is meant to create a situation where MCPS workers can live a safe and healthy life without needing to search for work elsewhere.
